Great Wall to launch more new models in Russia

Chinese carmaker Great Wall Motor plans to launch Florid, Coolbear and some other sedans to the Russian market in the coming two years, announced the company at the ongoing Moscow auto show, reported xinhua.net today.

Great Wall Motor has introduced Hovor CUV, Wingle pickup, Hover•π. and GWPeri into Russia. In May 2008, Great Wall Motor exported 286 GWPeri cars to Russia and won a significant market. The company expects to export another 300 GWPeri minicars to Russia by the end of this year as local dealers in Russia demand for more, said Zhang Xingguang, Great Wall's Russian market executive.

According to Zhang Xingguang, as A-level cars take a big market share in Russia, the A-level Florid and Coolbear models will provide Russian consumers with more choices. The two new models are expected to go on sale in Russia at the end of this year.

Great Wall Motor, China's largest maker and exporter of pickups and SUVs, has become the largest Chinese brand in the Russian market since it entered Russia in 2004.
