Ford Credit has decided to stop offering loans to dealers and consumer in the Chinese market because of finance liquidity problems, the International Business Daily reported Tuesday.

CORRECTION: We received the following information from Ford.

Ford Automotive Finance China Limited (FAFC) has informed its employees and dealers that it will stop wholesale financing of Volvo, Mazda and Jingling Motor Company (JMC) dealers.

The decision took effect January 1, 2009, with affected dealers being provided a 90-day notice period to source alternative wholesale funding.

Ford dealers in China are not affected; we are committed to providing full support to Ford dealers in China.
