Crowd pullers the Red Arrows will be one of the highlights at the Imperial War Museum Duxford for the Duxford 2007 Air Show on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September. Renowned throughout the world as ambassadors for the Royal Air Force, the Red Arrows will perform a spectacular display on both days of the two day show.

Flying the BAE Systems Hawk jet, the Red Arrows display will feature breath-taking manoeuvres from the Champagne Split and Carousel to the Goose and Python at over 500 mph.

“We are always delighted to welcome the Arrows to Duxford” said Tracey Woods, Marketing and PR Manager for the Museum, “They are the best in the world and visitors to the air show are sure to be thrilled by their routine.”

Since the inception of the Red Arrows in 1965, they have flown over 4,000 displays in 52 countries. Says Wing Commander Jas Hawker, Red Arrows Team Leader, ”Being selected to command the Red Arrows is a huge privilege and a challenge.”

The show will also feature an exciting and broad range of some of the very best of British aircraft including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight trio of Lancaster, Hurricane and Spitfire, perennially popular in this, their 50th anniversary season. Alongside these will be some air show favourites, such as the Chinook, Spitfires and the First World War Display team as well as the stunning aerobatic Redstarz and the only airworthy F-86 Sabre jet in the world.

The Duxford 2007 Air Show takes place at Imperial War Museum Duxford on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 September 2007. As well as the flying display, visitors to the air show will be able to enjoy the whole Museum including the evocative Battle of Britain and Forgotten War exhibitions, conservation work in progress and the stunning new AirSpace exhibition. -- www.iwm.org.uk
