Absolute Ballet At NOBA

New Orleans Ballet Association features ‘Absolute Ballet’: dancers from Pacific Northwest Ballet on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Dixon Hall, Tulane University.

New Orleans Ballet Association reaffirms its commitment to classical ballet with a unique season-closing spectacular. ABSOLUTE BALLET, a new company created by superstar dancer Stanko Milov, brings together principals and soloists from Seattle’s Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB), one of America’s premier ballet ensembles.

Milov, an acclaimed principal dancer with PNB, brings his colleagues to town for an evening of classics including George Balanchine’s Apollo and the Diamonds pas de deux from the full-length Jewels, as well as the grand Black Swan pas de deux. Among the artists joining Milov is his longtime partner, star ballerina Patricia Barker. Together on stage, they “create a universe of their own” (Seattle Weekly).

This elite ensemble also will feature the homecoming of Laura Gilbreath, a New Orleans native now performing with PNB. This debut performance is not to be missed. -- www.nobadance.com
