Denver Museum Presents Film Series

Denver Art Museum presents cinema’s fall 2007 film series ‘France in a Time of Kings’, opening on Fridays, September 14 and running through October 26.

Presented in conjunction with Artisans & Kings: Selected Treasures from the Louvre (opening in October), the fall 2007 film series provides an armchair look back at French history in the best and worst of times. Hosted by film curator Thomas Delapa, these seven films draw on history, literature, French cinema and Hollywood, and focus on crowning moments that helped shape French character during a time when kings were thought to be divine.

The series opens September 14 with a restored 35mm print of the rarely-seen epic masterpiece Children of Paradise; other films include The Return of Martin Guerre (Sept. 21), Ridicule (Sept. 28), and October offerings Vatel, Queen Margot, Dangerous Liaisons and Camille.

Single tickets are $7 for Museum members, seniors and students; $8 for others. Series tickets are $40 for Museum members, seniors and students; $45 for others. Advance ticket purchase is recommended. -- www.denverartmuseum.org
