Australia Post Moffatt Oxenbould Young Artists' Program

Announcement of the participants in the Australia Post Moffatt Oxenbould Young Artists' Program for 2007.

Opera Australia's Chief Executive Adrian Collette has announced the participants in the Moffatt Oxenbould Young Artists' Program for 2007. Mezzo-soprano Sian Pendry will join mezzo-soprano Dominica Matthews and conductor Ollivier-Philippe Cuneo who continue in the program through 2007.

The Young Artist program, sponsored by Australia Post, is a unique opportunity for young professional artists - singers, conductors or repetiteurs - to spend a year with Australia's national opera company, mentored by experienced artists and gaining invaluable performing experience in a supportive environment.

Adrian Collette said, "Operatunity Oz made the process of becoming an opera singer look like a short, sharp boot camp, but the reality is it is a marathon. This is why we have to help emerging singers, nurture their talents and teach them skills they need for a career on the opera and concert stage."
