Kansas School of Fine Arts kicks off the 2007-2008 academic year with its 8th Annual Collage Concert and Reception to be held on Friday, September 14, at the Lied Center of Kansas. This year’s concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and a ticketed reception begins around 9:00 p.m.

The Collage Concert brings together the four units of the School of Fine Arts--the departments of art, design, music and dance and the Lied Center of Kansas—by highlighting works by visual and performing arts students and faculty in a 90-minute, fast-paced format.

The program for this year’s Collage evening features performances by the KU Trumpet Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Combo I, the Men’s Glee and Women’s Chorale groups, the Wind Ensemble, the Chamber Choir and Percussion Ensemble. Additionally, there will be instrumental and vocal solo performances and performances by the University Dance Company.

Also featured will be an art video from a KU faculty member, and a video from the KU design department. The program culminates with a traditional rousing performance from the Marching Jayhawks. -- www2.ku.edu
