The status of upcoming movie projects starring Owen Wilson are unclear, after the Oscar-nominated comedian's reported suicide attempt.
Film trade journals The Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety report that Owen Wilson had been due to start filming the comedy Tropic Thunder in the coming weeks.
Work on another film, Marley and Me, had been pencilled in for January.
Variety reports that the films are "in flux" following Wilson's hospitalisation for undisclosed medical reasons in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Sources close to the actor have been quoted in several media reports as saying the 38-year-old funnyman, one of the most bankable actors in Hollywood, had attempted to commit suicide.
A one-line statement from Dreamworks, which is releasing Tropic Thunder, says work on the film is ongoing.
"Filming on Tropic Thunder continues," the statement said.
A spokesman for 20th Century Fox meanwhile has brushed off questions about Marley and Me, in which Wilson is to star in alongside Jennifer Aniston.
"It's a totally inappropriate at this time when all of our thoughts and concerns are with his health and well being," a spokesman told Variety.
In a statement on Monday, Wilson - who is said to be in a "good condition" at the Cedars Sinai Medical Centre - asked for privacy.
"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time," Wilson said.
Wilson has appeared in a string of hit comedies, including Wedding Crashers, Zoolander and Starsky and Hutch.
