AT&T Hiring 550 Retail Store Employees in Northern California

Two months after the launch of the iPhone, AT&T Inc. announced that 550 new retail store employees will be hired in Northern California to meet the increasing demand for AT&T voice and data services.

The sales and customer service positions are located in nearly all of AT&T's 100 company-owned retail stores throughout Northern California and Reno — including in and around the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and Fresno — and are expected to be filled within the next 90 days.

"We're seeking outgoing employees who want to work in a fun, fast-paced environment and to become experts in the latest communications and entertainment technology," said Fred Devereux, vice president and general manager of AT&T's wireless operations in Northern California and Reno. "If you've got the drive and attitude to keep our customers happy, there's no telling how far you'll go at AT&T."

Today's announcement comes at a time when more and more customers are signing up for AT&T's wireless, television and broadband services at AT&T's retail locations. It also follows strong sales of the iPhone, which is sold at AT&T's company-owned stores and is only available with wireless service from AT&T.

"Our retail stores are one of our key competitive differentiators and allow customers to work face to face with our retail sales consultants," added Devereux.

Applicants can learn more about specific positions and how to apply at www.att.com/wirelesscareers or by texting "JOBS" to AT&T (2-8-8) on their wireless devices. AT&T offers competitive pay and excellent benefits, including 401(k), tuition reimbursement, paid time off and medical/dental coverage.

Workplace diversity remains a top priority for AT&T. In 2007, DiversityInc magazine ranked AT&T No. 3 among the Top 50 Companies for Diversity for its commitment to diversity in the workplace and marketplace. AT&T was also ranked No. 1 among the Top 10 Companies for African-Americans and No. 3 among the Top 10 Companies for Recruitment and Retention.-AT&T
