Spotlight on Notebooks at Oct. 14th Apple Event

Apple has emailed an invitation to media for a special event to be held in Apple's Town Hall on the company's Cupertino campus on Tuesday, October 14th at 10am. You can see an image from the invitation above. That ray of light shining on the back of an unidentified Apple notebook surely means something --- knowing Apple, it always does --- but what?

While it's unclear exactly what will be announced, leaked photos and information about a possible $800 MacBook have recently hit the Web. Additionally, there's talk that we may learn about about "The Brick," whether it be a manufacturing process or a product.

There's little doubt more speculation --- and more leaks (?) --- will arise during the days between now and the event.
