Oscar-winner Joaquin Phoenix, 34, brother of the fellow actors, the late River Phoenix, Summer Phoenix and Rain Phoenix, has decided to quit acting. He is, according to reports, going to focus on a music career.

Phoenix won an Oscar for his role in Walk the Line in 2005. But he also received much acclaim for his singing in that movie.

Phoenix told "Extra,"

"I want to take this opportunity ... also to give you the exclusive and just talk a little bit about the fact that this will be my last performance as an actor... I'm not doing films anymore.

"I'm working on my music. I'm done. I've been through that."

Confirmation came from Phoenix's representative, who said,

"That is what he told me."

His brother-in-law Casey Affleck, who is married to Summer Phoenix, said it's all true:

"I don't think he's kidding. He's got music and stuff."

Wow, done with Hollywood at 34? Now to see what happens to Summer and Rain.
