Hilary Duff to Return to TV

Hilary Duff is returning to TV.

The young actress / singer, who got her big break in the Disney TV Series Lizzie McGuire, has signed a one-year, exclusive talent and development deal to star in her own series for NBC.

Teri Weinberg, executive vice president for NBC Entertainment, said Friday:

"Hilary is an incredibly versatile talent with a huge following whose career we know will continue to soar on NBC. We are confident we will develop great ideas that would feature her vast talents and are thrilled to have this opportunity."

While Hilary Duff made it big with Lizzie McGuire, she hasn't done much since reaching adulthood and her last film, War, Inc, which starred John Cusack, barely made 1 million gross worldwide.

On the other hand, Duff certainly showed that she had grown up (check out the fab abs in the picture attached to this story).

Hilary Duff does have 3 films scheduled to hit theatres in 2009, so it's strange that someone tagged as an up-and-coming star would head for TV. One can make a good living on TV, but the pay is nothing compared to a hot movie actor or actress' salary.
