Dr. Pepper, who promised a free soda to everyone in America if the long-delayed Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" shipped this year, says it will honor its promise.

The album goes on sale Sunday, although it can already be streamed for free from MySpace Music.

Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement:

"We never thought this day would come, but now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

The band first started recording "Chinese Democracy" first started in 1994, if you can believe it.

Beginning Sunday at 12:01 AM, coupons for a free 20 oz. Dr. Pepper soda will be available, but for only 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. Coupons will be good until 2/28/2009.
