The finalists for the 2008 Dancing with the Stars show were were Brooke Burke and Derek Hough, Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer, and Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson. Most had been saying the judges were tilting toward Brooke and Derek (how could they not!), and that's the way they went.
How did the contestants fare individually? Did Brooke Burke and Derek Hough crush the competition? After all they were the front-runners all season long.
Well, Warren Sapp did a replay of his “Funkytown” hustle; he and Kym earned 27 points.
Ah, but Lance and Lacey rehashed their "Jim Dandy" jitterbug, earning 28 points.
But Brooke and Derek did their Viennese waltz, receiving perfect scores.
The contest was essentially over, but there was still the race for 2nd and 3rd.
Brooke Burke is the Dancing with the Stars 2008 title, with Warren Sapp coming from behind to take 2nd, obviously impressing the audience more than Lance did.
Burke said:
"It's been an incredible journey. It's such an accomplishment, just to try things that you've never done before. For me, it's been an incredible experience."
Personally, I've never been enamored of watching celebs dance, but oh well.
Burke, 37, was best known for hosting E!'s "Wild On," as well as appearing in magazines such as Playboy and Maxim.
