If there's an expected event that I've read about in the past few, well, years, it's this one. Condoleezza Rice playing a piano recital for the Queen? Yes.
Although I've never heard of this, apparently Rice is a trained concert pianist. I suppose her involvement in all things Bush overshadowed that.
However, this trip to England is Rice's last before Barack Obama takes office in January, and she has always expressed a desire to play for the Queen. Viola!
Rice played Brahms' Op. 34 accompanied by British Foreign Secretary David Miliband's wife, Louise, on violin, and three members of the London Symphony Orchestra.
Rice was given a recording (audio, though we have the YouTube video of it attached) of the performance as a gift.
