Attendees at Microsoft's MSDN Developer Conferences (MDC) will receive a Windows 7 Beta 1 DVD, according to information about the conferences posted by Microsoft on Tuesday. Those attending December conferences will receive the DVD via mail once it is ready.

The conferences, a total of 11, scattered across the country, run from from Dec. 9 until Feb. 19. Cost to attend is $99.

December conferences will be in Houston, Orlando, and Atlanta. DVDs will be on hand for the Chicago, Minneapolis, Washington, New York, Boston, Detroit, Dallas, and San Francisco in January and February.

Besides the already mentioned stuff, and other normal conference freebies, attendees can win an MSDN subscription, a Robotics Pack, a Gamers Pack, or a Mobility Pack.

Although Windows 7 DVDs were handed out at PDC in October, those were not actual beta DVDs. They were pre-beta, and labeled "Pre-release preview." No word on when non-MDC attendees will be able to get the Beta 1 version of Windows 7.
