BCS Bowl Selection Results Pretty Much as Expected

It's one of the most criticized rankings in sports: the BCS or Bowl Championship Series rankings. But the odds of having a playoff, which would likely eliminate all criticism of who's #1 in college football is small, at best, so it's the best we have to work with. Sunday, the bowl game selections were announced.

The BCS Championship game on Jan. 8th will be between two 12-1 teams, both with Heisman-worthy QBs: Florida (2) and Oklahoma (1). Texas (3) is sure to complain; it beat Oklahoma earlier in the season 45 - 35.

Here are the top 10 in the BCS rankings:

1. Oklahoma 12-1
2. Florida 12-1
3. Texas 11-1
4. Alabama 12-1
5. USC 11-1
6. Utah 12-0
7. Texas Tech 11-1
