Oxycontin the Drug Involved in Sherry Johnston's Arrest

I wrote about Bristol Palin's soon-to-be mother-in-law earlier. Sherry Johnston (pictured) was arrested on drug charges. More details have emerged about the arrest, including the fact that it was oxycontin, rather than the expected meth, that she was arrested for.

Why was meth anticipated by many? Well, after all, Wasilla is the meth capital of Alaska, according to state troopers.

Additionally, meth is notoriously easy to make. Oxycontin, on the other hand, is a synthetic form of morphine.

The 42-year-old Johnston has been charged with six felony drug counts. As you probably recall, her son, Levi Johnston, 18, is the father of Bristol Palin's child (Bristol's also 18). The two are supposed to be wed. And yes, Sarah Palin is Bristol's mother.

Sherry Johnston was released on $5,000 bond. No one else has been charged in the case, and there were no immediate plans to arraign her.

Right now, I'd expect Sarah Palin needs a good aspirin (though Sherry could probably supply some oxycontin, if she wanted).
