The victims of Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme now include a death. Rene-Thierry Magon de la Villehuchet, a founder of the hedge fund Access International Advisors, which had invested with Madoff (pictured), was found dead on Tuesday in his Manhattan office.

Rene-Thierry Magon de la Villehuchet, 65, had reportedly invested $2.1 billion into Madoff's scheme. By reports, his fund lost as much as $1.4 billion.

According to AFP, Villehuchet "could not cope with the pressure following the outbreak of the scandal," the website of La Tribune daily quoted an associate as saying.

The New York Times said that authorities indicated that de la Villehuchet was found in his office, having apparently slit his wrists. However, although a box cutter and pills were found, no suicide note was found, according to Bloomberg.

This is the first Madoff linked suicide, and hopefully, the last.

Rene-Thierry Magon de la Villehuchet was married, without children. Bernie Madoff is currently under house arrest.
