Anna Hansen, Lance Armstrong, Expecting a Child

Who's Anna Hansen? Well, until Lance Armstrong came into her life, a relatively private person. But now she and the seven-time Tour de France winner are expecting a baby.

This would be Lance Armstrong's fourth child; he had 3 children with his ex-wife, Kristin Richards: 9-year-old twin daughters, Isabelle and Grace, and an 11-year-old son, Luke.

In a statement, Lance Armstrong said:

"Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June and our families are ecstatic and grateful. We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts. We appreciate respecting our privacy, as we are both eager to celebrate the holidays as a family."

Privacy is unfortunately one of the things that being a celebrity removes from one's life. Let's hope that Anna Hansen is ready for it.

Anna Hansen works for First Descents, which "provides whitewater kayaking and other outdoor adventure experiences to promote emotional, psychological and physical healing for young adults with cancer."

Her bio from the site says:

Anna Hansen is a Program Manager and Recruiter for First Descents. As a Colorado native, Anna loves nothing more than being outdoors, and Vail provides the perfect setting for her favorite activities, mountain biking and snowboarding. Anna graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has been a volunteer at the Children's Hospital in Denver and serves on the board of directors for Camp Wapiyapi, a foundation providing hope and support for families with childhood cancer. Combining her passion for the outdoors with helping those fighting cancer makes First Descents the perfect job for Anna.

Armstrong's other children were conceived with sperm he had frozen prior to his treatment for testicular cancer. However, in the case of his and Anna Hansen's baby, conception was natural.

The baby is expected in June.
