The Daily Mail is running what it calls its "Flat Belly Diet," an "exclusive" two-days series focused on helping you lose up to 7 lbs and more than five inches in just four days. Key to that plan is something called sassy water. What exactly is that?

BTW, it's not as though the Daily Mail has a monopoly on sassy water and 4-day Flat Belly diets: Prevention magazine has one as well. In fact, that's where this diet came from, a book that Prevention sells when you click through.

In fact, sassy water is named for Prevention magazine editor Cynthia Sass, and also because it's "a heck of a lot perkier than plain old water." See the Flat Belly Diet Cookbook info at REIZIT.

Anyway, the idea of this diet is to de-bloat you. And sassy water will do that, in a "cleansing" way, if you get my drift. The recipe is:

  • 2 litres/3½ pints water
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
  • 12 mint leaves

Too bad for me: I am allergic to cucumber. Ah well. Readers, try it and let us know. Most say it is refreshing, and cleansing.

Want the whole diet? Here's the book.
