Mother of Waco Leader David Koresh Found Murdered

The mother of infamous Branch Davidian leader David Koresh, who led 80 people to violent death in the 1993 Waco siege, has been found murdered.

Bonnie Clark Halderman, 60, was found dead at the home of Beverly Clark 54, of Chandler, TX. Yes, Beverly Clark is the sister of Bonnie Clark Halderman, and thus the aunt of David Koresh.

At this point, the motive is unknown. "It's still under investigation, and we really don't know what the motive was or what caused this to happen," said Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt.

In 2007, Bonnie Clark Halderman penned a book about her son, called Memories of the Branch Davidians: The Autobiography of David Koresh's Mother.

David Koresh was born Vernon Howell. He and 80 of his followers, including more than 20 children, died after a 51-day armed siege of their compound by US federal security forces, when the compound caught fire.
