What In The World Is FLOTUS?

Acronyms, acronyms. Unfortunately this acronym, FLOTUS, makes on e think of flatus (and hopefully you know what that is). But what the heck is FLOTUS?

FLOTUS stands for "First Lady of the United States." Yes, and for some reason it has never come up before Barack and Michelle Obama.

Or rather, one could say the term FLOTUS was around, but just not used very often. After all, there was a time that Hillary Clinton considered naming Buddy, the "first dog," DOTUS to match the acronyms of both her and her husband.

Yep, it would have been DOTUS (Dog of the United States), POTUS (President of the United States) and FLOTUS.

For the Obamas, that won't work if Sasha and Malia get the two dogs they have been promised. Could you name them DOTUS1 and DOTUS2?

At any rate, for some reason many rags are calling Michelle Obama FLOTUS, and I don't recall Laura Bush ever called that. Even Politico, the left-leaning site, is calling her that, seemingly never using "Michelle Obama."

Come on, I realize using FLOTUS means less characters to type, but honestly.
