Super Bowl 2009, or as some like to call it, as arguably the biggest sporting event of the year, SuperBowl (single word): Sunday is a day full of previews, on TV, radio, the newspaper, or Internet? For those who aren't fans of the game, when does it start, who does it involve, and will it be a slaughter or like many Super Bowl games of late, exciting?

The first question: What Time Does Super Bowl 2009 start? To be honest, that's variable. TV coverage will begin at 3 PM PST, but because of pre-game activity such as the coin toss, National Anthem, etc. the game itself will probably begin around 3:20 PST.

For those interested, the Superbowl 2009 National Anthem will be sung by Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson.

So, if you're really not all that interested in all the pre-game stuff, consider the starting time for Super Bowl 2009 to be 3:20 PST or thereabouts.

On the other hand, if you want hours and hours of Superbowl 2009 preview coverage, NBC has already started it!

Second: what's the halftime show going to be? Yes, as much as the game is the focus, unlike most football games, the Superbowl 2009 halftime show will attract much attention. This year the headliners will be Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

The final question: who's going to win Superbowl 2009?

They say defense wins football, particularly playoff football. If you use that old rule, then it should be the Pittsburgh Steelers who win. The key will be if the Pittsburgh defense can shut down the Cardinal offense.

If Kurt Warner can't consistently make big throws to the Arizona WRs, the Cards have no chance winning. Let's not forget that the Cardinals have the NFL's worst-ranked ground game, despite Edgerrin James.

If, however, you believe the Cardinals are a Cinderella team of destiny, you might say fate, and the aging arm of Kurt Warner will take them to the Superbowl 2009 promised land.

The Cardinals have trailed in each of their playoff games and yet have rallied to win. However, 2009 is their first Superbowl and nerves might seal the deal for Pittsburgh.

Me? I'd love to see a Cinderella story.

Superbowl 2009 kickoff time, as I said, will be around 3:20 PST.

Let's get ready to rumble!
