Ashley Judd Slams Palin's Support of Airborne Wolf Slaughter

In a new video ad, and in what seems to be an early start to the 2012 Presidential primary, actress Ashley Judd berates Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for her support of aerial wolf hunting in that state.

"Hi, this is Ashley Judd for Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund.

"When Sarah Palin came on the national scene last summer, few knew that she promotes the brutal aerial killing of wolves. Now back in Alaska, Palin is again casting aside science and championing the slaughter of wildlife.

"Using a low-flying plane, they kill in winter, when there is no chance for the wolves to escape. Riddled with gunshots, biting at their backs in agony, they die a brutal death.

"Palin even proposed a $150 bounty for the severed foreleg of each killed wolf. And now she is encouraging even more aerial killing. It is time to stop Sarah Palin and stop this senseless savagery."

Thank you.

No matter what you may think about hunting, and hunting wolves specifically, those who hunt call it a sport. Is it a sport when you use a plane to hunt animals? You might as well use a tank.

Judd added the following in a published statement:

"I am outraged by Sarah Palin's promotion of this cruel, unscientific and senseless practice which has no place in modern America. Because she is apparently determined to continue and expand this horrific program, I am grateful that Defenders will aggressively fight to stop her. I am proud to be a part of that effort."
