David Beckham, 33, has been on loan to AC Milan from the L.A. Galaxy, but since joining the Italian team, he's been on a tear. Word is there are negotiations being conducted between the two teams for a longer loan, or a permanent move. The loan deal is set to end on March 9.

On Sunday night alone David Beckham scored twice and setting up two goals (Milan beat Lazio 3-0 in Rome).

Adiano Galliani, who is the Vice President and Managing Director of AC Milan said:

"Beckham's lawyers are talking to Los Angeles Galaxy who are the legitmate holders of his playing license. If they make themselves available to discuss a transfer we would be delighted to talk to them.

"Right now I'm neither optimistic, nor pessimistic. He's Galaxy's player, we'd be delighted if they decided to sell him but if they don't change their plans he's their player.

"We want to sign him either on loan until the end of the season or permanently, otherwise Beckham will have to leave, to the great disappointment of everyone, including me."

One would have to wonder why Victoria Beckham, in particular, would want to leave the glitter and glamour of Los Angeles, but apparently if David Beckham is happy, so is she. She said in an interview with the Italian version of Vanity Fair:

"I am happy [here] because I know he is happy at Milan.”
