David Archuleta Debuts as an Actor (Sort Of)

David Archuleta is best known for his appearances during the seventh season of American Idol. But can he act? Well, if saying "hob knocker" is acting, the answer is yes.

David Archuleta appeared on the Nickelodeon show iCarly, which is one of those annoyingly unfunny teen sitcoms. It centers aroundCarly (Miranda Cosgrove) who stars in a popular webcast (iCarly, right?).

In Saturday's episode, Carly and best-friend Sam(antha) are crazy about the popular TV show America Sings (ahem). Any idea what America Sing is really supposed to be?

Anyway, I won't give away the entire show, but suffice to say David Archuleta appears on iCarly. Thing is, his big line and big acting segment, where he actually has to show some emotion, is when he talks about hob knocker.

He doesn't know what hob knocker is, but Carly tells him (whispers) and then he grimaces. So, what the heck is a hob knocker?

I can't find any reference to it, personally. Except for this person on Facebook (looking at him, I can see where the grimacing might come from).

Maybe Archuleta meant to say hob knobber instead of hob knocker. Hopefully not, because that's definitely not something Carly should know about.

Anyway, he's pretty awkward and needs acting lessons. Take a look at the video posted with this story. At least until Nick pulls it from YouTube.

David Archuleta is scheduled to sing the National Anthem at Sunday's Pro Bowl.
