Doctors at the NFL scouting combine performed their normal pre-workout routine exam. While doing so, they found an issue with one of Brian Mandeville's heart valves and advised him that he retire from football.
It's sad. His agent, Ryan Tollner of Rep 1 Sports Group, said the issue is not life-threatening:
"Brian will fly back to California and be examined by heart specialists to completely diagnose the issue. Obviously his well being is priority number one at this time."
The Brian Mandeville, 22-years-old, underwent surgery for a brain tumor in 2005 and worked through knee injuries that forced him to miss four games during his senior season with the Huskies. Although doctors say he should retire, it remains to be seen if this is the last we will see of him.
