Tim Kretschmer Named As Today's German Spree Killer

Spiegel has a very detailed chronology of the second horrific murder spree in two days, if you include the Alabama killings yesterday.

In fact, some have theorized that yesterday's killings spurred Tim Kretschmer into action. The only photo available so far is the very grainy one attached to this post.

While initial reports said that Tim Kretschmer was shot dead by German special branch officers after his rampage, later reports indicated he killed himself with a shot to the head. He left Albertville Realschule last summer with qualifications equivalent to GCSEs. He then went on to begin an apprenticeship.

It is believed that Tim Kretschmer obtained his gun from his own house. His father was a member of the local gun club who had a small arsenal of weapons, totally 16. However, police searching the property today could find just 15. A Beretta was missing, along with 50 rounds of ammunition, local media reported.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the following:

"It’s a day of sorrow for all of Germany. It is incomprehensible that, within seconds, a terrible crime took pupils and teachers to their deaths.”
