Memphis (2) Bests Maryland (10), 89-70 in NCAA Tournament

Memphis, #2 ranked in the NCAA West Regional, easily defeated the Maryland Terrapins with a 89-70 result in the second round. The 19 point deficit? Well, it wasn't really even that close.

The Memphis Tigers (33-3) were led by Tyreke Evans, off the bench, with 19 points. In fact, their top 3 scorers all came off the bench, with Doneal Mack and Robert Dozier both tossing in 17 points.

Maryland (21-14) was led by Greivis Vasquez with 18 points, but among the rest of the players, only Eric Hayes (10) and Adrian Bowie (11) scored in double-digits.

The Maryland Terrapins were also hampered by trouble on the boards, with Memphis winning the rebounding battle 33 - 23. The Tigers also led from three-point range, with 10 - 19 from long-range, while the Terrapins only managed 5 - 14.

Memphis also had a blistering 70% shooting percentage from the field in the first half.
