Blake Griffin powered Oklahoma (1) into the South Regional semifinals with 33 points and 14 rebounds as Oklahoma overcame a tenacious Michigan (10) 73-63 in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
The Oklahoma Sooners (29-5) are the second seed in the South Region, and will play the Syracuse-Arizona State winner in the Sweet Sixteen in Memphis, Tenn.
Meanwhile, DeShawn Sims and Anthony Wright had 14 points each for Michigan. The 10th-seeded Wolverines (21-14), who pulled off a mild upset in the opening round over Clemson, couldn't make it two upsets in a row.
Willie Warren added 16 points and Austin Johnson 12 for Oklahoma. They took up the slack from the perimeter when Michigan tried to double-team Griffin.
In the end, however, Michigan couldn't stop Griffin, who finished 14-for-20 from the floor and tied Michael Beasley's Big 12 record with his 28th double-double.
