North Carolina Blasts Michigan State to Win NCAA Final

Michigan State couldn't stand up to the firepower of at least five players on the North Carolina Tar Heels team that are probably bound for the NBA, and staggered to a 89 - 72 loss in the NCAA Men's Basketball Finals.

Tyler Hansbrough scored 18 points, Ty Lawson had 21 to lead all scorers, and Wayne Ellington had 19.

89 - 72 is far closer than the game really was.

In fact, the Tar Heels (34-4) were up by 55-34 at halftime, and that lead broke a 42-year-old NCAA title-game record for biggest lead at the half while also setting a record for most points at the halftime.

Kalin Lucas, the Big Ten player of the year, had 14 for the Spartains, and Goran Suton led Michigan State with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

For those wondering: yes, President Barack Obama picked NC to win it all in his NCAA bracket.
