Robyn Gibson Files for Divorce From Mel

The couple has been married for 28 years, but have reportedly been separated for some time. Through their publicist, Robyn and Mel Gibson said:

"Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so."

Robyn Gibson cited the ever popular "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce filing, signed on Thursday and filed today.

Robyn and Mel Gibson married in June 1980 and have seven children together. One only child, Tom, who turns 10 tomorrow, is a minor. Robyn is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the boy, as well as spousal support.

According to reports, there is no prenup. In California, this would mean a 50/50 split of community property, a huge amount.
