A home invasion robbery ended with a 3-year-old boy being kidnapped, as two gunmen who broke into his family's home, tied up his mother and her five children, robbed the house and left with the child.
Briant Rodriguez is pictured in an undated photo provided by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Dept., attached to this post.
The two men, each carrying a handgun, burst through the front door of the home, ransacked the house and stole money and property. The men then left with Briant, telling the still tied-up mother and four other children not to call police.
One of the children freed himself then untied the rest of the family, police said.
"They said they were going to take her son and take him to Mexico and kill him," said neighbor Estela Magna.
"We have no idea why they took the child," Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Beavers said. "They were strangers to the whole family."
Although no car description was available, police have still issued an Amber Alert.
Suspect One is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male adult, about 18 years old, skinny, about 5'8", wearing a black baseball cap, blue jeans and a green T-shirt.
