The Farrah Fawcett poster pictured with the story is opne of the iconic images of the 70's. Yet as this former Charlie's Angel approaches death due to terminal anal cancer, she still took the time, bravely, to air her own story on NBC tonight.

Yes, the tanened good looks the bouncy hair, all would be in the past tense for Farrah Fawcett anyway, as she is 62. But death? That's still too early for her, or at least would appear to be without the anal cancer that's been killing her since 2006.

The documentary aired on NBC is a decidedly open look at Farrah Fawcett's life and death battle. Cameras are there when she thinks she's beaten the cancer, in 2007. Cameras are there when the cancer returns, and spreads to her liver.

Farrah Fawcett has opted for a public, and a very public, look at her death. Certainly, some would question the wisdom. But as she says in the documentary:

"This film is very personal. At the time, I didn't know if anybody would ever see it. But at some point, the footage took on a life of its own and dictated that it be seen."

Strangely, even at this late stage, those who remember the legal issues she had when, after the first season of Charlie's Angels, she tried to bolt, would find it ironic that so close to death, she is still embroiled in legal issues. For one, Farrah Fawcett has dropped a lawsuit she filed over the rights to her famous swimsuit photo (as attached to this post).

In February, the actress sued Bio-Graphisc, Inc, Pie International Inc. and author T.N. Trikilis, who collectively claimed to own exclusive rights to the iconic photo, but she dropped the suit on May 11.

Meanwhile, with regards to the documentary, Ryan O'Neal, Farrah Fawcett's longtime love, has been sued by Craig Nevius of Windmill Entertainment who claims that for two years, he worked closely with Fawcett on the film before he was forced out by Ryan O’Neal and Alana Stewart.
