Cleveland Marathon 2009 Sees Record Number Of Runners

It just goes to show that length isn't everything. The SF Bay to Breakers was the top attraction among racing observers on Sunday, but there was a marathon run in the U.S. as well, the Rite-Aid Cleveland Marathon. The fans are the anticipation of Cleveland marathon winner 2009, which is going to be very competitive this year.

This was the 32nd annual Cleveland Marathon. With a time of 2 hours, 27 minutes and 37 seconds, it was won by twenty-three-year-old Joel Stansloski of Tulsa, OK.

Second and third in the Cleveland Marathon went to 34-year-old Andy Martin of Bend, OR, who finished at 2:31:20, and 32-year-old David Mooney of Peninsula, OH, at 2:33:21, respectively.

The Cleveland Marathon's women's division was won by 25-year-old Jackie Baumgartner of New York, at 2:57:49. Thirty-year-old Shanna Ailes of Kent, OH took second at 3:08:17. Twenty-seven-year-old Melanie Lenk of Wilmington, NC was third at 3:08:36.

According to Rite-Aid Cleveland Marathon organizers, a record 12,400 runners participated.
