You can bet the NBA wanted to see the marquee matchup in the finals, but it's not to be: no Kobe vs. LeBron. No, Cavs Magic Game 6 is over, and the Cavs are out, as the Orlando Magic enter the NBA finals for the first time in 14 years.

A game after LeBron James dominated to extend the Cavs Magic series to Game 6, Dwight Howard dominated inside for 40 points. Meanwhile, Rashard Lewis added 18 and the Magic hit 12 3-pointers in a 103-90 victory in the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday night.

Orlando Magic will meet the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night at the Staples Center in Game 1. Yes, while the NBA wanted the matchup, for now, the only matchup between James and Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant will have to be limited to those TV commercials we have been swamped with.

After Game 6, with the Magic putting away the Cavs, coach Stan Van Gundy said: “I just think this team all year long has shown an incredible amount of heart. This team just keeps fighting back. They deserve it.”

Cavs Magic Game 6 is over. The NBA's MVP, LeBron James, couldn't do it by himself. And Dwight Howard and the Magic say: bring on the Lakers.
