Barry Bonds holds the all-time home run record, as well as the single-season HR record, but those records have been tainted by allegations of steroid abuse. To be honest, records of other sluggers such as Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire, and A-rod and (need I go on) have been tainted as well. We're sure Elizabeth Bonds does not care about that, per se.
What Elizabeth Bonds does care about is whether or not Barry Bonds has had affairs, and that's been widely speculated on in the past. In fact, a very high profile affair, or rather mistress, Kimberly Bell, resulted in a book by Bell.
Bell has told authorities that she began dating Bonds in 1994, while he was still married (but on the splits) with his marriage to his first wife, Sun. Bell said the relationship continued for five years after Bonds married the former Liz Watson, whom he met in a club in Montreal.
The petition by Elizabeth Bonds cites the very vague (but so familiar) "irreconciliable differences." She asked spousal support in the application, but didn't elaborate on reasons.
