Citing unnamed sources, Profootballtalk.com reports that QB Brett Favre has already been signed by the Minnesota Vikings, who are waiting for the right time to announce it,
It's no secret that the Vikings and Favre have been "courting" each other, but Favre still has to prove that his arm has healed. The report added that the Vikings have already approved the production of official Favre jerseys with Reebok.
On Friday, Vikings coach Brad Childress told KFAN-AM radio during an interview:
"My understanding is that he is pain-free right now. "oes he have the endurance and the stamina in that arm yet? He doesn't know that yet. It's no different than grabbing a golf club for the first time during the year when you rip around 18 holes, and you wake up the next day and your side hurts. You say, 'Geez, I haven't felt that muscle in a while.' So he's got to build some endurance in that and see if he thinks he can get it back to where he wants to get it."
Later today Brett Favre's agent, Bus Cook, flatly denied the rumor. He wrote in an e-mail to the Pioneer Press today that there is "no contract" when asked about the report by Profootballtalk.com.
However, PFT stuck by its guns in a later post.
