Twin Hotel Bombs Go Off in Indonesia

On Friday, bombs exploded in Indonesia's capital, Jakarta, killing at least 4 people. The bombs went off at the Ritz-Carlton and Marriott hotels.

South Jakarta police Col. Firman Bundi confirmed that four foreigners were killed in the blasts at the neighboring hotels in an upscale Jakarta neighborhood.

Alex Asmasubrata, a jogger, said he first heard a loud explosion at the Marriott. Five minutes later, a bomb followed at the Ritz-Carlton. The Ritz explosion ripped off the facade.

There have not been any major bomb blasts in Indonesia for several years. That said, the Marriott was the site of a terrorist attack in August 2003 that killed 12 people. An al-Qaida-linked terrorist organization, Jemaah Islamiyah, was blamed for that attack.

No organizations have claimed responsibility for the Indonesian bomb blasts. This is a breaking story.
