David Sonenberg, Abdul's manager, said the following to the LA Times:
"Very sadly, it does not appear that she's going to be back on 'Idol.' I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful. I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven't stepped up and said what they want to do."
So it sounds like "American Idol" has neither made a pitch to her, or told her to take a hike. If Sonenberg's assertions are true, they have left Paula Abdul in Limbo.
Paula Abdul "sort of" addressed the "American Idol" situation herself, via Twitter. On her Twitter feed, she said:
”I’m actually moved 2 tears upon reading the enormous amount of tweets showing me your kindness, love, & undying support. God bless all of you! If it weren’t for you, this specific time and situation would feel a whole lot worse!”
Paula Abdul had pretty much drifted into anonymity before "American Idol" returned her to stardom. To be honest, she'd be foolish to bolt, but many other stars have left the shows that made them rich and famous, only to end up "lost in the crowd."
Still, she's definitely thinking about it. Sonenberg added:
"She's not a happy camper as a result of what's going on. She's hurt. She's angry,. I think at this point we're going to be considering everything, including some kind of a competition show. She has tremendous ideas for a whole variety of shows."
Good luck. Her earlier Bravo reality show was a total failure.
