Every time you turn around, the right is exhibiting racism in one form or another. This one here verges on xenophobia. Of course, Kilmeade apologized today. Whoopee.

On July 8th, Brian Kilmeade of Fox & Friends made this ridiculous comment, in reference to a study that marriage reduces Alzheimer's.

“We keep marrying other species and other ethnics. The problem is that the Swedes have pure genes, cause they marry other Swedes, because that’s the rule. Finland, Finns marry other Finns, so they have a pure society. In America we marry everybody, Italians, and Irish, so this study does not apply to us. That’s how I feel."

Dementia aside, we're not pure in America. Huh.

Species. This implies that anyone not white is a different species, which is what they first tried to palm off on people during the days of slavery.

Kilmeade "apologized" today, saying:

“I made comments that were offensive to many people. That was not my intention. Looking back at those comments I realize they were inappropriate. For that, I sincerely apologize. America, is a huge melting pot and that is what makes us such a great country.”

What he really apologized for is that he thought only Fox viewers would see it, no harm there. And in terms of a sincere apology, this is about a 2 out of 10 for sincerity.
