Gidget, the chihuahua used in those old "Yo Quiero Taco Bell" commercials which originated back in 1997, has died. She was 15.
To be exact, Gidget was the second chihuahua used in the commercials. The first Taco Bell dog was Dinky, whom Gidget replaced.
The Taco Bell commercials were both controversial, and a hit. While most found the ads funny and the dog cute, many accused them of being stereotypical.
Besides the Taco Bell commercials, Gidget appeared in a commercial for the '90s edition of Trivial Pursuit and played Bruiser's mom in Legally Blonde 2.
