A 7-year-old led police on a merry chase. Yes, you read that right, not only did a 7-year-old steal a car, he managed to stay ahead of police for quite a while.
The reason for the car theft? The 7-year-old didn't want to go to church. That's obviously reflected in the fact that he broke the "thou shalt not steal" commandment.
The Plain City, UT boy managed to not just stay ahead of police after he stole the car, he managed to make it all the way home. In the process, he ran a stop sign, and even got the car up to 40 MPH. He also nearly hit another car.
Despite all that, the 7-year-old boy managed to get the car all the way home. The only relatively redeeming fact in the car chase is that the stolen vehicle was his father's Dodge Intrepid.
At least the 7-year-old kept it all in the family. When he got home, his father asked him why he would steal a car (obviously having his curiousity piqued by the police cars surrounding the house). He gave his father the church avoidance story.
