Palin Camp Threatens Libel Suit Over Divorce Story

A story about a possible Sarah Palin divorce from husband Todd may earn a blogger a liberl suit, or at least that's what the Palin camp threatened on Sunday.

No such "Sarah Palin Divorce" retraction has been printed, and the Alaska Report, which indicated that it verified the story with its own sources, hasn't reported a similar threat against itself.

However, the Alaska Report did print the letter from Palin's lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, who asked Gryphen "if you do not have an attorney, please let me know if you want to be served with the summons and complaint at the kindergarten where you assist or at your residence."

For the Sarah Palin divorce report to be libel, it would have to be malicious, and Gryphen told the Alaska report:

"Nothing that I wrote in my (Sarah Palin divorce) post was meant to be malicious. I trust my source and simply reported what I had been told. Threatening to serve legal papers to an educator in a room full of five year olds? Now that is malicious."
