Yesterday, the Pro Football Hall of Fame held its 2009 induction ceremonies, and tonight the NFL is officially back. Tonight the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans will meet in the pre-season opening Hall of Fame Game 2009.
Besides being the opening game of every pre-season, the Hall of Fame Game 2009 will have an added bonus, or negative depending on your point of view. Terrell Owens, late of the Dallas Cowboys and now a member of the Buffalo Bills, will make his Bills debut.
Terrell Owens has been known as controversial (and that's putting it mildly), and it will be interesting to see what he has planned for the Hall of Fame Game 2009. Also of note will be the special tribute planned for ex-Titan Steve McNair: he was killed earlier this year and the team plans to wear #9 decals this season, in his honor.
Pre-season games are rather boring affairs. Teams seldom play their top-flight players for very long, fearing injury. The Hall of Fame Game 2009 will be no different. However, for those interested, the Hall of Fame Game 2009 start time is 8:00 PM ET, with coverage via NBC.
While this weekend features just the Hall of Fame Game 2009, next weekend's schedule of pre-season games will be a full one, with all the teams starting to take a look at their full rosters in anticipation of the real deal: game 1 of the regular season.
