As part of the NBA’s treatment program, Michael Beasley is expected to stay in the facility for a minimum of 30 days with little outside contact. Sources state that the team encouraged the player to seek help for not just substance-abuse problem, but also for possible psychological issues.
Last Friday afternoon, Michael Beasley melted down on his Twitter account, saying "Y do I feel like the whole world is against me...I can't win for losin," and "Feelin like it's not worth livin!!!!!!! I'm done." Some of the angst is attributed to the photo above, which shows some bags on the floor in front of Beasley that have some sort of substance.
It's unclear what exactly is in those bags, but you can figure what kind of speculation there was based on his history. The Miami Heat made Michael Beasley the second overall pick after Derrick Rose in the 2008 draft. His NBA career didn't start off well, with the NBA fining Beasley $50,000 for being in a room where marijuana was found at the NBA’s rookie symposium last summer.
Despite all that, Michael Beasley had a solid rookie season for Miami. It wasn't great, but it was solid, with Beasley averaging 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
