Longtime Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) passed away on Tuesday, and plans are being made for his funeral and burial. On Saturday, a funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica in Boston, and later that day he will be buried at Arlington National Cemetary, next to his brothers, JFK and RFK.

Sen. Ted Kennedy will lie in repose Thursday and Friday at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston. The Kennedys have planned a private memorial service at the library for Friday night, prior to the public ceremony at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica and burial Saturday.

According to a family statement, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica became very important to Kennedy when his daughter, Kara, successfully battled her own cancer. Kennedy prayed daily there during that time.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica, commonly known as the Mission Church, is in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston. The church was built in the 1870s.

The Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica has 1,450-seats. Tribute areas for Kennedy are also being set up in Boston and Hyannis.
