Whitney Houston's Central Park Concert: She's Back

Whitney Houston held a free concert in support of her new album on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Central Park Ramsey's Playfield, New York. Houston's life has been troubled of late, and this new album is considered a comeback for her.

Whitney Houston's Central Park performance was, as I said, free, and it's clear from the attendance that her "fans will always love her." If you didn't get to see it at noon ET on Tuesday, you can see the performance tomorrow on "Good Morning, America."

At noon, Whitney Houston was on a purple-adorned stage in New York City’s Central Park taping the music to be broadcast Wednesday. Wearing a form-fitting brown dress, the diva recorded three songs from her brand-new album, I Look to You, including her new dance track Million Dollar Bill.

Even the most apologetic Whitney Houston fan couldn't have missed the fact that during the Central Park conert, her voice cracked a number of times. Unlike post-production on albums, there's no way to hide that, live.

Despite all that, this is her first studio album in 7 years. With Whitney Houston's Central Park concert done, she's definitely back.
Since her 1985 debut, Houston has sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos. She has also won 6 Grammys, 2 Emmys, 23 American Music Awards, and 16 Billboard Music Awards.

Besides Whitney Houston's free Central Park concert, and her showing on GMA tomorrow, she will appear on Oprah later this month. In fact, it will be Oprah's season premiere September 14, 2009.
