Peyton Manning Ties Unitas' Club Victory Mark at 118

It wasn't pretty, but Peyton Manning led the Indianapolis Colts to a 14 - 12 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. More importantly, it also gave Peyton Manning 118 victories as the Colts QB, tying him with the legendary QB Johnny Unitas.

Indianapolis lived up to its pre-season promise that the defense would be better this year, and let's face it, the D won the game. The Colts D held the Jax to 228 yards, split evenly 114 passing and 114 rushing.

Meanwhile, Peyton Manning was 28/38, 301 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. He managed many drives deep into Jax territory, but couldn't finish. One drive ended with a second-and-goal INT.

Indy's Reggie Wayne finished with 10 catches for 162 yards and a TD and Colts coach Jim Caldwell won his NFL head coaching debut.

Jaguars' QB David Garrard was 14/28 with 122 yards. It was RB Maurice Jones-Drew who nearly tied the game in the 4th quarter. He took a pitch and went through a hole for a 7-yard TD run to make it 14-12. The two point conversion failed, however, giving Indy the win.

The win is somewhat pyrrhic for Indy, however. WR Anthony Gonzalez (shown) left Sunday's 14-12 victory late in the first quarter with what the team described as a knee injury. It was a non-contact inury that apparently occurred as his leg was caught in the turf.

Anthony Gonzalez did not return after the injury. An MRI is scheduled for tonight.
